We hope that as a member of Bundaberg Surf Life Saving Club you feel welcome, have the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful beach, form lasting friendships, contribute to Queensland’s biggest volunteer organisation and learn new skills.
Our club was founded in 1921 at Neilson Park and has a long, proud history in the Bundaberg region. During the 2025/26 season, our volunteers and members of the Australian Lifeguard Service kept over 40 000 visitors to our beach safe.
The surf life saving patrolling season runs September to May.
Our sign-on days are held in September each year, however we welcome new members throughout the season. Apply for membership online.

Skills Evaluation
Surf Life Saving teaches all members and nippers to apply swim skills to ocean conditions. To ensure the safety of all juniors during water activities SLSQ have developed a Junior Skills Evaluation for each age group. This includes a pool evaluation prior to inclusion in water activities at the beach, a ‘run-swim-run’ beach evaluation for inclusion in Sunday and training activities and a ‘competency beach evaluation’ which allows nippers to nominate for club and inter-club carnivals. It is a pre-requisite for all Junior Activities to have an ability to swim.
If you are joining children up to our nipper program, please consult the Nipper Information regarding skills and age awards for pre-requisite swimming requirements. All Bronze and SRC courses also have a minimum pool skills evaluation that will need to be completed. For more information on completing these courses, see Education.
